Long gone are the days when we had but two types of door to choose from in Vanilla Minecraft. The Mojang rulers have decided to bestow upon us a range of new door styles to use in our constructions.
From left to right you can see in the image to the left
- Dark Oak Door
- Acacia Door
- Jungle Door
- Birch Door
- Spruce Door
- Iron Door
- Oak Door
Each of these doors comes with a very distinct look, and makes it MUCH easier to create doors that fit to the theme of your Minecraft creations without having to use a skinning mod. My favorites are very closely between the Spruce and Dark Oak doors, both of which fit nicely in to my rather medieval style of building in Minecraft. However I also found the acacia door useful as a prison cell door thanks to it’s barred styling.
The Doors in Minecraft are created the same as before, however now the type of wood has a big impact in the resulting door you create. If you are looking for the pattern it is planks of wood (or iron bars) 2 wide, three high in your crafting tables grid.
If you are looking for something a little more, shall we say, epic, there are some fantastic piston designed entryways we can got to later!
