One of my favorite designs in Minecraft is not the traditional castle layout, but instead, the Pagoda. This age old Japanese building style brings a certain elegant simplicity of building style to what you create.
I made this video of a pagoda I made, as always, it’s built in survival, and uses easily accessible materials.
Building the Pagoda in vanilla Minecraft held a few technical challenges. The most significant of these was with the ‘balcony’ areas, which in most Japanese designs has a slight uptick on the corner. It was hard to reproduce this in Minecraft on a relatively small build, so I ended up simply ignoring it.
Whilst the modular design on higher levels was fairly difficult, I particularly liked the design on the first (ground floor).
Let me know what you think!
